The culminating activity of Kids4Peace is “Abraham’s Tent.” In this activity, the Kids put together a play, the purpose of which is to tie together the strands common to all three faiths , through understanding the personality of Abraham. The play is written and performed at the end of the camp each year by the children based on what they have learned during the visit. Parents and other stakeholders are invited to view the performance which is enjoyable and educational for adults as well.
“Now the Lord said to Abraham, ….’all the people on earth will be blessed through you’” (Genesis, 12: 1)
“If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians, 3:29)
“Who can be better in religion than he who submits himself to God, does good, and follows the way of Abraham, the true in faith? For God did take Abraham to be His friend.” (Quran, 4 : 125)
Abraham being the common ancestor of the people of the three faiths, was a man of extraordinary character. He was monotheistic, known for his love for God and was loved by God. He is called the friend of God. Kids discover a common friend in Abraham and through him they bond with one another at the end of this unique experience.
